REGIONAL EVENTS

THE MOVEMENT FOR GREATER INCLUSION OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES IN QUEBEC’S ECONOMY CONTINUES ON THE NORTH SHORE IN SEPTEMBER 2023!

It’s official: the 4th First Nations and Quebec Regional Economic Circle will take place on the North Shore, in the community of Uashat mak Mani-Utenam, on September 20 and 21!

This event, organized by the Société de Développement Économique Uashat mak Mani-Utenam (SDEUM) as part of the Grand Economic Circle of Indigenous Peoples and Quebec (GECIPQ) movement, will bring together the North Shore’s Indigenous and non-Indigenous business community, chiefs from the Innu and Naskapi nations, and regional municipal representatives.

In keeping with the major objectives of the regional economic circles, this edition will provide an opportunity to:

  • Promote the full participation of First Nations peoples in the North Shore region’s economy;
  • Bring together First Nations and Quebec elected officials and the business community, and offer them networking opportunities;
  • Mobilize municipalities, towns, businesses and regional organizations, and invite them to make significant commitments that will generate concrete spin-offs favorable to the socio-economic development of the Innu and Naskapi nations.
